As the diesel shortage in the country continues, private buses will reduce routine operations by 50% from tomorrow (6).
Responding to a query, Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne said that despite assurances by the Transport Ministry and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), private buses – which make up the majority of public transport – would be unable to source an adequate volume of fuel to carry out routine operations.
Further to their request on making moves to provide adequate fuel for the busses. The CPC has not responded to them in any matter.
