The Sri Lankan team managed to win the preliminary round 19 match between the Sri Lankan team and the Netherlands team in the 2023 World Cup One Day Cricket Tournament by 5 wickets.

The Dutch team won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 262 runs in their 49 overs. Sybrand Engelbrecht scored 70 runs and Logan van Beek scored 59 runs for the Dutch team. In bowling, Dilshan Madushanka managed to take 4 wickets and Kasun Rajitha 4 wickets for the Sri Lankan team.

The Sri Lankan team, who played the reply innings, passed their winning target in the 48th over while losing 5 wickets. In batting, Pathum Nissanka scored 54 runs, Charith Sasanka scored 44 runs and Sadeera Samarawickrama who batted unbeaten scored 91 runs for the Sri Lankan team.
