The government of South African President Cyril Ramposa has decided to stop diplomatic relations with Israel as a protest against Israeli attacks and the death of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Regarding that decision, the relevant resolution was forwarded to the South African Parliament and a poll was also held. There were 248 votes in favor of that proposal and only 91 people protested.
Accordingly, South Africa has said it will withdraw the South African embassy in Israel.
