General Secretary of Samagi Jana Balawegaya Ranjith Madduma Bandara says the SJB is ready for any kind of discussion with the International Monetary Fund.
Issuing a statement he responded to a recent comment made by President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the United National Party Convention.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe recently invited Sajith Premadasa and Anura Kumara Dissanayake to participate in an open virtual discussion with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The General Secretary of Samagi Jana Balavegaya, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, issued a statement criticizing President Ranil Wickremesinghe for imposing measures on the people under the guise of International Monetary Fund (IMF) proposals and conditions.
He asserted that these actions do not reflect the true intentions of the IMF.
The statement highlighted that during every visit by IMF representatives to Sri Lanka, the opposition leader and the party’s economic policy committee have engaged in discussions with them.
Ranjith Madduma Bandara emphasized that whenever conditions adversely affecting the lives of ordinary people were identified, proposals were submitted to revise them.
