A special meeting between the new British High Commissioner Andrew Patrick and the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa took place at the opposition leader’s office.
In this special meeting held after assuming office as the new British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, the two sides exchanged views on many social, economic and political issues in the country.
There, Sajith Premadasa, the opposition leader informed the new British High Commissioner about the current government’s violation of the democratic rights of the citizens by not holding the elections on time and continuously postponing the elections.
Daniel Sherry, Secretary of Political Affairs of the British High Commission, also joined this event.
