The commander of the Russian Navy fleet in the Black Sea, Viktor Solokov, is said to have died in the recent missile attack by Ukrainian forces on the Russian Navy headquarters near the Black Sea in the Crimean Peninsula, which belongs to Ukraine and is under Russian control.
It is reported that 34 Russian naval officers were killed and more than 100 navy soldiers were injured in the attack by the Ukrainian army. (Reuters)
