Several private bus associations have stopped running buses since midnight yesterday (04).
Anjana Priyanjith, General Secretary of All Ceylon Private Bus Companies Association, stated that they have started this strike protesting that the fuel quota provided through the QR code system is insufficient.
He further stated that the reduction of bus fares from midnight yesterday was a decision taken by the transport authorities based on a single opinion without any discussion with the bus unions.
