According to a condition imposed by the International Monetary Fund, only twelve of the 225 members of the Parliament have published the statement of assets and liabilities, Dr. Harsha De Silva, Colombo District Member of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, said in the Parliament yesterday (4).
Harsha de Silva said that as the second of the 16 recommendations given by the financial fund, according to the anti-corruption law, the assets of the senior officials or the president, prime minister, ministers, as well as all members of the parliament should be disclosed to the people. The MP also said that the asset declarations should be published on a selected website by July 24, 2024.
In this way, Harsha de Silva said that the financial fund has given 16 recommendations for implementation and questioned whether those conditions are wrong.
