The Inland Revenue Department says that registering with the Inland Revenue Department and obtaining a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) can be done online or by visiting the Inland Revenue Department.
Accordingly, it is possible to apply a tax number to the Inland Revenue Department by visiting the Inland Revenue Department’s website www.ird.gov.lk and following the guidelines.
Also, the application for obtaining this tax number can also be downloaded from the Inland Revenue Department’s website and a copy can be printed, so it is stated that there is no need to go to the Inland Revenue Department.
It is further stated that when coming to the Inland Revenue Department and obtaining the tax number, a registration application for the same can be completed and submitted to the primary registration section on the 2nd floor of the main office of the Inland Revenue Department or any local or city office of the Inland Revenue Department.
