The Haputale Police say that with the ongoing torrential rain yesterday (09) night, one lane of the Colombo-Badulla main road has been blocked by landslides along with boulders at two places in the Upper Blackwood area between Beragala in Haputale.
It is also pointed out that it is dangerous to drive heavy vehicles along the single-lane section as the other side of the road has steep slopes and may sink.
As there is a risk of further landslides and rockfalls, the police urge drivers to drive with caution.
