175 out-of-service buses Sri Lanka Transport Board have been fixed and added back to the public transportation network. According to reports, it was carried out on the day before yesterday (April 24) at the president’s office under the direction of the president, Ranil Wickremesinghe. This method of repair has been used on Sri Lanka Transport Board’s buses that had to be removed because they lacked replacement components and were expensive to buy because of import restrictions in the nation.
Furthermore, it is stated that a project was started at the depot level to repair 400 buses out of 852 buses that had been taken out of service for more than three years in accordance with Treasury regulations. The cost of the 175 buses that were completed under this scheme is close to 300 million rupees.
