Beginning on September 1, the Labor Department will introduce an online platform that will allow recipients to schedule a day and time in advance to complete their paperwork.
As on September 1, the hotline 1958 or website ‘appointment.labourdept.gov.lk‘ would be accessible for this, according to Manusha Nanayakkara, the minister of labor and foreign employment.
From September 1 onward, the Labour Department’s online facility, which was previously only available at the Narahenpita Departmental Head Office, will be expanded and made available at all district, sub, and divisional offices, alleviating the difficulties Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) beneficiaries faced due to the lengthy lines.
The facility, which is run by Sri Lanka Telecom, would require beneficiaries and clients to schedule an appointment in advance after a trial and inspection period, according to Commissioner General Prabath Chandrakeerthi.
In order to prevent problems fulfilling their requirements with the department, he advised the general public and beneficiaries to make the most use of this system.
