Gold prices in Sri Lanka have increased significantly following a sharp rise in global gold prices, which have climbed to USD 4,325 in the global market.
Accordingly, local gold prices have reportedly risen by Rs. 6,000 compared to the rates recorded at 9.00 a.m. today (15).
As a result, the price of 22-carat gold sovereign was recorded at Rs. 360,600 in the Colombo Sea Street gold market this morning.
Meanwhile, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign, which stood at Rs. 386,000 on June 13 (Saturday), has increased to Rs. 392,000 today, according to market sources.
