Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that the Japanese government has agreed to provide a grant of 38 million dollars from Japan to ensure the uninterrupted running of essential and emergency health services. The minister also mentioned that diesel is mainly purchased through this.

The minister also said that the Japanese government has agreed to provide a grant of 5 billion Japanese yen and approximately 38 million US dollars under the Japan Economic and Social Development Program to improve the healthcare delivery system in the health sector by ensuring essential services and transportation facilities.
