A common condition known as cholesterol is a fatty substance produced by the liver and the food we eat. The body needs a certain amount of lipids to keep the body healthy. Combined with proteins that transport the blood, these are called adipose proteins. Dense fatty proteins cause adverse effects on the body by being deposited in the blood vessels. When the amount of lipid profile is high, the deposition of cholesterol in the blood vessels narrows the blood vessels and reduces the blood supply to the organs that supply blood through those blood vessels. This can reduce the blood supply to the brain’s main surroundings such as the heart. Due to this condition, a heart attack can occur at a young age.

If someone is at high risk of developing heart or blood diseases, or if the risk of high cholesterol mentioned above is high, they should also measure their cholesterol frequently. Only people at high risk of heart and blood vessel disease need immediate treatment.

Simvastatin
Rosuvastatin

Statins are drugs that are commonly used to treat high cholesterol. Medicines belonging to this group are medicines like atorvastatin, simvastatin, and rosuvastatin. This drug reduces the amount of cholesterol in the blood by inhibiting the function of an enzyme that helps the body to produce cholesterol. This medicine is prescribed to be used only once a day and the best time to take it is between 5-6 pm. But if you forget to take it at this time, it is the doctor’s recommendation that there is nothing wrong with taking it at night. Statin drugs reduce the bad cholesterol in the blood, LDL, as well as good triglycerides. If the doctor has concluded that your risk of heart and blood vessel-related diseases is high, it is necessary to take the prescribed medicines properly.

In addition to the above points, stopping smoking, avoiding alcohol, having a healthy and balanced diet, controlling body weight, and exercising can control blood cholesterol. Therefore, be more careful about the cholesterol medicines you take.
