The CPC has instructed its lawyers to take appropriate legal action against the Divaina newspaper for publishing false and misleading news articles on the arrival of crude oil from Russia to Sri Lanka. A complaint will also be made by CPC to the CID to investigate the allegations.
He further stated that “CPC and the Ministry have received more than 70 proposals in the last month for the supply of petroleumproducts. All proposals are evaluated by a committee comprising government officials and are issued LOIs once the requirements are fulfilled.”
“Most proposal fulfill the technical requirements but fail to fulfill the payment methods that can be adopted by CPC due to the country and banking ratings. Urge anyone with a viable proposal to submit it to CPC or Ministry rather than spreading false and misleading news.”
