Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, the minister for mass media, transportation, and highways, said in a statement to a main newspaper yesterday that the government has not decided whether to sell or turn Lake House into a hotel.
The Minister alleged that it was a clear deception to report that President Ranil Wickremesinghe had advocated turning Lake House into a hotel in a weekend edition of the Sinhala daily “Aruna.”
When commenting on the news that appeared in the weekend edition of the “Aruna” newspaper yesterday (31), the minister brought up this point.
Additionally, Minister Gunawardena highlighted that no discussions on Lake House, an organization that helped to launch the country’s newspaper sector, had been held by the President, the Prime Minister, or the government.
