Baby Cheramy, the leading and most loved and safe baby care brand in Sri Lanka, successfully completed a series of parental clinic programmes in the Galle District recently, to educate parents on the safety of a baby and tips to overcome challenges during early childhood care. This period is usually uncharted territory for new parents and accessing verified and credible information from a safe, respected source such as Baby Cheramy – in partnership with medical and maternity experts – provides the best start possible for a successful parenting experience for both parents.

Encouraging fathers to be involved in every step of the pregnancy, including early childhood care, promotes better outcomes for the child, strengthens bonds between parents, and makes for a fulfilling and inclusive parental experience. Along with promoting inclusive parenting, the parental clinics also advised fathers on how they should be involved and supportive when the baby is born and how they can be engaged in early childhood development in order to improve the child’s physical and mental well-being.

Furthermore, the activation was conducted with the association of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, the Ministry of Health (MoH), and the Early Child Care Development Authority. The parental clinics were held from 24th November to 3rd December 2022 at Baddegama, Habaraduwa, Imaduwa, Yakkalamulla, Hikkaduwa, Gonapinuwala, Ambalangoda, Elpitiya and Akmeemana, covering the entire Galle district. This was the third edition of the parental clinics by Baby Cheramy.

The Galle Parental Clinic was addressed by an expert resource panel with experienced professionals in Maternal and Baby care. Maternal and Child Healthcare consultant, Shyamalee Pathirage, addressed the audience on Baby’s safety, Nutrition and common challenges faced by pregnant mothers and how to overcome them. Further, the audience was addressed by Madushani Amarasooriya, Early Childhood Development Officer of the Divisional Secretariat at Bandaragama; and C.M.Walawage, Early Childhood Development Officer of the Divisional Secretariat of Hikkaduwa, on improvements at each stage in early childhood development. Doctors from the MoH also participated in the session and addressed the parents.

The clinic concluded with a musical therapy session that was arranged by Jagath Watawala (former Music Director at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation) and Swarna Watawala (Aesthetics Teaching Instructor at Elpitiya Zonal Education Office). The mothers were gifted with a valuable Baby Cheramy gift pack and an Early childhood development and inclusive parenting guidance booklet approved by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.

A brand trusted by parents across Sri Lanka for its safety, Baby Cheramy aims to conduct ‘Daru Patiyata Surakshitha Lowak’ parental clinics across the island in the Western, Southern and Eastern provinces to spread awareness on inclusive parenting for both mothers and fathers. Baby Cheramy, the No. 1 Baby Care Brand in Sri Lanka, will continue to educate and conduct programmes as it celebrates its 60th anniversary of winning the trust of Sri Lankan mothers, encouraging inclusive parenting by educating fathers, and becoming the most-loved and the safest baby care brand in Sri Lanka.
