Nearly two months have passed since two CT scan machines and two MRI machines at Colombo National Hospital experienced technical faults, significantly impacting patient care. The Motor Traffic Department has announced the cancellation of all non-renewable driving licenses in a bid to enhance road safety. Commissioner General of Motor Traffic Nishantha Weerasinghe stated that the decision was prompted by the increasing number of reported accidents.As part of this initiative, approximately 1.1 million non-renewable heavy vehicle driving licenses will be canceled by the end of this year.
