Former Sri Lankan cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan has pledged his support for Opposition and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader Sajith Premadasa in the 2024 Presidential Election.During a meeting with the SJB Leader, former cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan extended his support for the politician’s programme to build the nation. According to media reports, following the meeting, Tillakaratne Dilshan has been appointed as the SJB’s Kalutara District, Beruwala Organizer.It is reported that Tillakaratne Dilshan fills the vacancy created by SJB MP Rajitha Senaratne, who this week pledged his support for President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the Presidential Election.

Four suspects including a principal were arrested in connection with the rape of a 16- year- old girl by 22 schoolboys in Thanamalwila, Police said.The principal, a male teacher and two female teachers of the school where the girl was studying were arrested for concealing the incident without informing the police.Thanamalwila police earlier arrested 17 out of 22 schoolboys in connection with the incident.
