An earthquake occurred in the northeast deep sea, 310 kilometres off the coast of Batticaloa, at around 1.30 a.m. today (11).
Accordingly, the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau stated that there is no danger of tsunami due to the earthquake, which recorded a strength of 4.65 on the Richter scale.
