The Adani Group has expressed frustration over an official statement that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had given an energy project at the behest of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
They state that the purpose of investing in Sri Lanka is to meet their needs as a neighbor and that they see this as an essential part of the partnership between the two countries as an institution.
At a recent COPE committee meeting, former Chairman of the Electricity Board M. M. C. Ferdinando said that last November the President had summoned the President and demanded that the Indian Prime Minister grant Mannar renewable energy projects, where he stated that this was not an issue of the CEB.
