Navagamuwa police say that two people who came on a motorcycle attacked a private petrol station in the Korathota area of Kaduwela in the early hours of the day before yesterday (12) and ran away.
The police also said that when the petrol station was closed, the motorcycle was stopped on the main road of Kaduwela Athurugiri and the petrol bomb attack was carried out, but it did not explode.
In front of the house of the owner of the respective gas station, there was also an incident of shooting and running away a few months ago and the police suspect that this is a chain of incidents led by “Kaivaru Mutua” who is abroad.
A senior officer of Navagamuwa police said that because many businessmen refused to pay extortion money to Korathota “Kaiwaru Mutuwa”, they are using hirelings to threaten them in this manner.
