The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board has planned to launch a new pension scheme for farmers as of next month, according to the board’s head Madduma Bandara Weerasekera.
He mentioned that the existing farmer pension system has not been actively implemented since 2008.
Accordingly, he further states that from next month, registration is expected to be done according to the new pension system and for this, people engaged in the fishing and plantation industries can join.
