President Ranil Wickramasinghe said that a new mechanism will be prepared to prevent the wastage of money in the provision of services by the central government, provincial council and local government institutions.
He said when he met the provincial governors and chief secretaries to discuss the future affairs of the provincial councils.
The President further mentioned that attention has been paid to giving the members of parliament the opportunity to join the local government affairs.
