Eheliyagoda Police claimed they are looking for a drug user who vanished after stealing Rs. 400,000 from a buddy who is visually impaired.
An ejected soldier who had previously worked as a driver for the distilleries firm is among those detained, according to the police. Together with a heroin addict from the Werahera Watta region, he had plotted the crime.
The suspects attempted to steal over Rs. 30 million from the location, but they were only able to escape with Rs. 500,000.
Police reported that after a power outage that occurred in the region late one night, the drug addict entered the office building at the direction of the primary suspect. According to investigations, the primary suspect is also a drug user, and the two had planned this heist to get money for heroin.
By the time of their arrest, the police said that they had spent Rs. 360,000 on heroin. Police in Boralesgamuwa are looking into it.
