The roster for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Player Auction has been unveiled, featuring 333 cricketers scheduled to go under the gavel in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena on December 19th, 2023.
Out of 333 players, 214 are Indians and 119 are overseas players, of which 2 players are from associate nations. The total number of capped players is 116, the number of uncapped players is 215 and the number from associate nations is 2.
Eight Sri Lankans are set to feature in the auction in which the wrist-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has put his name in a higher base price – INR 1.5 crore.
Kusal Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Charith Asalanka, Dushmantha Chameera, Dilshan Madushanka, Lahiru Kumara and Nuwan Thushara are the other Sri Lankans named in the auction, and all of them have put their names in the base price of INR 50 lakhs.
A maximum of 77 slots are available to be filled in franchise teams, with up to 30 being slotted for overseas players. (Direct Quote: The Papare)
