According to the Central Environment Authority, the production or sale of 09 single-use plastic items in the country has been banned with effect from October 1.
The authority informs that the relevant gazette notification has been issued by the Minister of Environment, Mr. Naseer Ahmed. Single-use drinking straws, plastic plates, cups, spoons, forks and knives, plastic garlands and plastic buckets will be banned from October 1st. Effectively banned.
Accordingly, the Central Environment Authority said that their production, import for local use, sale, free offer or display in the country is prohibited and the law will be implemented against the violators of those orders according to the provisions of the National Environmental Act.
