Until an adequate microeconomic plan is planned in the country, the World Bank has no interest in financing Sri Lanka at any cost.
Furthermore,, they said That they are taking relevent steps in cordination with IMF to build a sustainable and a stable economy and will be helping the country by providing required medicines,temporary cash transfers for the households of poor , food for the school children and support small businesses and farmers.
In a statement issued by Th world bank they mentioned “Recent media reports have inaccurately stated that the World Bank is planning support for Sri Lanka in the form of a bridge loan or new loan commitments, among other incorrect assertions.” .
