Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara says that only the petrol ship provided by Lanka IOC Company has been confirmed to come to the island.
Accordingly, the ship is scheduled to arrive in the island on July 22 or 23 and before that, a proposal was made from Malaysia to bring a petrol ship between the 10th and 15th.
However, the Malaysian company has not confirmed a date of arrival in this country and no other company has been able to confirm a fuel ship arriving before 22, the minister said.
The Minister of Electricity and Energy stated that yesterday (04) the official committee appointed by the Cabinet approved the importation of fuel from a certain company to Sri Lanka by the 13th and the prices they have offered are higher than the previous prices.
