Based on information provided by the Military Intelligence Corps, two individuals were apprehended in Jaffna with 156.4 kg of Kerala cannabis valued at Rs. 420 lakhs by officials of the Police Narcotics Division in Mannar on 12 August 2024, following long-term investigations conducted by Military Intelligence Corps.
The arrested suspects, aged 39 and 44, are residents of the Jaffna and Kilinochchi areas. Following their arrest, both the suspects and the seized contraband were handed over to the Jaffna Police, who are now conducting further investigations of the case.
