Transport of vegetables to Colombo by train has started.
Accordingly, according to a proposal presented in the budget, it is stated that the Trade and Marketing Division of the Railway Department has prepared 5 special train carriages for the transportation of vegetables.
This is being implemented as a pilot project yesterday (27) afternoon by transporting vegetables from Nanu Oya Railway Station to Colombo Fort.
It is said that the vegetable stocks required for Colombo supermarkets and the Manning market will be transported by that train
