The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thunder may occur in many parts of the island in the evening or at night.
The department states that heavy rains of around 100 mm may occur in some places.
There is a possibility of rain in the Eastern Province and Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests that people should take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
