The Department of Meteorology says that today (30) there may be scattered rains or thunderstorms in many parts of the island after 2:00 p.m.
The department mentioned that there may be rain or thundershowers in the morning in the Northern Province and Puttalam district.
Some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, South and Uva Provinces and in Kurunegala District may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm, and some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces may experience foggy conditions in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
