Today (30), the Department of Meteorology says that there may be several periods of rain in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology further stated that in the western slopes of the central mountains, in the northern and north-central provinces and in the districts of Hambantota and Trincomalee, the winds blowing from time to time can become strong winds between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour.
