The Department of Meteorology said that the development of rainy weather conditions in many parts of the island is expected from yesterday (27) in the next few days.
Accordingly, the department stated that there will be occasional rains or thunderstorms in the Eastern and Uva provinces today, and several periods of rain in the Northern and North Central provinces.
After 2.00 pm in the rest of the provinces of the island, there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms, and in Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts, there may be some heavy rains of about 75 mm.
The Meteorological Department requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
