The Department of Meteorology says that a slight increase in rain conditions is expected in the south-western part of the island in the next few days from today (28).
The department stated that several rainy seasons may occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Galle and Matara districts.
In Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts, there may be rain or thundershowers at some places in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology exhorts individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
