The Department of Meteorology announces that rain or thundershowers may occur at places in the evening or night in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
It is stated in the announcement that some rain may occur in the Uva province, Ampara and Matale districts, while the rest of the island will be mainly without rain.
It is further stated in the announcement that some places in Kalutara, Galle, Matara and Ratnapura districts may experience heavy rains of more than 50 millimetres.
