The Department of Meteorology announces that there may be occasional showers or thunderstorms in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts, and heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places.
The announcement further states that there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district during the evening or at night.
