The Department of Meteorology says that on this day (21st), there may be several periods of rain in Western, Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
The department stated that scattered showers or thundershowers may occur in Uva and Eastern provinces and Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
