The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur in many parts of the island today (20) after 2:00 p.m. The department stated that some places in Uva, and Central and Eastern provinces may experience heavy rains of about 75 mm.
Rain may also occur in the western and southern regions in the morning. The Department of Meteorology further mentions that necessary measures should be taken to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thundershowers.
