The Department of Meteorology says that in many parts of the island, rain or thundershowers may occur in places during the evening or at night. The department stated that it may rain in the morning in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North Central and Eastern Provinces and Galle and Matara Districts received mm. Highs in the 50s and slightly heavier showers are possible. The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
