The Department of Meteorology says that some rain may occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts today (17).
The department stated that there is mainly rainless weather on the rest of the island.
The Department of Meteorology further stated that the winds blowing from time to time in the North, North-Central and North-West provinces and Trincomalee and Hambantota districts may become strong winds between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour.
