According to the Department of Meteorology, the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts, may have numerous bouts of rain today (16). The agency warned that some locations in the provinces of Uva and Eastern might see rain or thundershowers in the late evening or early morning.
Periodic winds in the North, North-Central, and North-West Provinces, as well as the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, may intensify into severe winds with speeds of 40 to 45 kilometres per hour. The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
