Today (14th) at 12:11 pm, the Meteorological Department informs that the sun will rise over the areas of Kiranchi, Kokavil and Puthukkudurippu. Likewise, the Department of Meteorology says that in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, there may be rain or thundershowers in a few places in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology asks citizens to take the required precautions to lessen the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology further stated that hot weather is expected in some places in the eastern and north-central provinces and in Colombo, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Kilinochchi, Vavunia, Mulathivu and Hambantota districts today.
