The Department of Meteorology announces that occasional rain or thundershowers may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Northern provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
It is also stated in the announcement that in some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, heavy rains of more than 75 mm may occur.
It is further stated in the announcement that there may be several periods of rain in the rest of the provinces and the winds blowing from time to time over the island may become strong winds between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour.
