The Department of Meteorology says that there may be several periods of rain in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today (13). The department mentioned that rain or thundershowers may occur in a few places in Eastern, Uva and Northern provinces during the evening or during the night.
The rest of the island may experience mainly rainless weather. The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
