The Department of Meteorology says that there is mainly rainless weather in many parts of the island.
The department stated that the winds are blowing from the northeast and the wind speed is between 20 to 35 kilometres per hour.
From Mannar to Puttalam to Colombo and from Hambantota to Pothuvil, the wind speed may increase to 40 to 50 km/h from time to time in the offshore areas.
The department further stated that the sea areas off the coast from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and from Hambantota to Pottuvil can be rough from time to time.
