The Department of Meteorology says that on today (10) there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island after 1.00 pm.
The department stated that some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.
There may be rain in the morning in the Northern Province and Trincomalee district, while foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Central and Uva provinces.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
