The Department of Meteorology says that some light rains may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (09).
The department mentioned that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva and Eastern provinces during the evening or at night.
The department further mentions that in the North-Central Province and in the districts of Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee, there is a possibility that the winds blowing from time to time will turn into strong winds of about 40 kilometres per hour.
